Hi, I’m Jan Murphy and I have been working as a Fitter/Consultant of bra & breast prosthesis for a number of years. I myself wear external breast prothesis.

My personal experiences have given me a greater understanding of the needs of woman who have experienced breast cancer or just require a professional fitting service to ensure they are fitted for maximum comfort and given a wide range of choices.

I was trained by the ‘Caring for You ’ program. This program assisted many woman across Australia holding workshops and fitting days in conjunction with the breast nurses from Royal Melbourne, Austen Repat, Peter Mac, Monash, The Wesley, The Mater Newcastle as well as remote areas like Darwin, Alice Springs, Perth as well as many small country areas with no services.

  • Qualified fitter/consultant.
     
  • Bosom Buddies committee member for two years, formulated and implemented the Breast Awareness Program for year 11 and 12 students and the community.
     
  • “Encore ” instructor for two years (exercise program for woman after breast cancer).
     
  • Currently consumer representative on the “Expert Genetics Working Group ” with the National Breast Cancer Centre.
     
  • Awarded the “Centenary Medal ” in 2003 for support of woman with breast cancer.
I believe that everyone is entitled to have a CHOICE and be COMFORTABLE, it ’s important to look good and feel great on the inside as well as the outside.
